A lot has been happening at Glenrothes Foodbank over the past few months – here’s a summary of what’s been going on!
At the end of April we welcomed Shelby Tudor as our new Assistant Manager : Shelby has fitted in really well, and we are so lucky to have her on board.
We are so grateful to so many people, both individuals and organisations, who donate to us – we couldn’t do what we do without your support. Recently we have received big donations from : the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards ; Angie McCourt and her team, who chose to donate to Glenrothes Foodbank as part of an enterprise activity for their college course, and Dawn and her team at McDonald’s, who have been collecting food items for us.
Miss Smith from Glenrothes High School organised a “dress-down day”, where pupils brought in items of food – such a great idea, and they raised a huge amount for us!
Glenrothes Golf Club had their charity Tri-Am competition in May, and the entry fees go to a charity of the winning team’s choice. This year the winners chose Glenrothes Foodbank – thank you so much!
Lynn and Shelby met up with Morrison’s Community Champions, Denise and Kirsty, to chat about ways to support each other and the community. Morrison’s have been tremendous with their donations before and throughout this current pandemic, and we really appreciate their continuing support. We have also been contacting local primary schools, and have had some great suggestions about fundraising ideas – we’ll keep you posted!
In the meantime, Leslie Primary and Caskieberran Primary Schools have very kindly been doing fundraising for food – much appreciated!
And a huge thank you goes to the Food Warehouse for the activity packs which they generously donated to us.
Thank you, as always, to those who support us in whatever way you can – whether it’s through Paypal, or donations of food. You are all so kind.
